It is quite true that the

Hong Kong University hopes to obtain

a grant from Boxer Indemnity Funds,

but it is by no means certain that it

will be able to do so. You will

remember that, as the scheme stands

at present, a Board of Trustees is to

be established in China and all

applications for gra: ts are to be

addressed to the Board.

In the

meantime no action is being taken with

regard to the money now lying in the

Bank. The Board is to have a Chinese

majority
